Originally planned as the slow movement of a Cello Sonata, Faur\u00E9 composed his melancholy El\u00E9gie in 1880. The Sicillienne started life as an orchestral work in 1893 and was arranged by Faur\u00E9 for cello and piano in 1898 before finding its place as part of his famous incidental music to Maurice Maeterlinck's playPell\u00E9as et M\u00E9lisande. This Urtext edition by leading French music scholar Roy Howat contains a preface, commentary and exemplary presentation of the score. Includes piano accompaniment and separate cello part.

Refunds
