APERITIF MADE WITH ITALIAN MOSCATO WINE – Cocchi Americano is a wine-based aperitif produced in Piedmont, Northern Italy, using Moscato grapes and a secret blend of local and international botanicals. It has been produced to the same recipe without interruption since 1891. TROPICAL FRUIT FLAVOURS AND RICH BODY - Bitter oranges and elderflower on the nose, followed by tropical notes of mango, pineapple and papaya. The rich body that comes from the Moscato wine makes this the perfect ingredient in the original and classic Italian Spritz. AMERICANO APERITIF – Named Americano because the drink was bitter ‘amaricato’ from the addition of gentian and wormwood, and also because 20th century Americans had the habit of adding ice and soda to spirits and vermouths. TRADITIONAL ITALIAN ORIGINS – Giulio Cocchi founded his business in the North West Italian town of Asti in 1891 after becoming fascinated by the art of pairing food and wine. He began producing quality aromatic infused wines with a great focus on the aperitivo. THE SYMBOL OF ASTI – The Rooster is the symbol of the city of Asti where Giulio Cocchi first set up shop. Cocchi’s singing rooster is from the 1920s and represents its aperitivo function - “It awakens the appetite THE CLASSIC ITALIAN SPRITZ – Cocchi’s Traditional Spritz: 50ml Cocchi Americano, ice and top with soda, garnish with an orange peel. Or for a more Modern Spritz: 60ml Americano, 25ml Grapefruit Juice, 75ml Prosecco, garnish with a mint sprig
