Product Description

Konstance' proved quite outstanding in T&M's trials, combining the superb garden performance, resilience and weather resistance of a French Marigold with the showy blooms of an African Marigold. Ideal for long lasting colour, these bushy little plants are neat and robust, so ideal for beds, containers or as border edging plants. Culinary note: the citrus tasting flowers have many uses, try them in salads, sandwiches or seafood dishes too.Sow marigold seed in spring on the surface of a good seed compost and gently firm down. Lightly cover the seed with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place the seed tray in a propagator at a temperature of 21-25C (70-77F) or seal it inside a polythene bag. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged and not exclude light as this aids germination which usually takes 7-21 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow them on in cooler conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When growing marigolds, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant which will produce more flowers later on. When marigold plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Transplant outdoors in any well drained soil in full sun, at a distance of 30cm (12") apart.Product specifications:Position: Full SunHeight: Up to 35cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 35cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x packet Marigold 'Konstance' (approx. 100 seeds)Flowering period: July to OctoberImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
