Martell Red Vsop Barrel Cognac, 70Cl

For Martell VSOP Red Barrel only red fine grained oak barrels are used to age this cognac. Martell VSOP aged in Red Barrels - exploring a new dimension of Martell aging Savoir-Faire.When a barrel is called 'RED' - reddish colour of aged wood, it means it has reached the perfect stage of maturation for both the wood and the eaux-de-vie, allowing for an ideally balanced exchange between the two.Nose: Round and fresh bouquet, run through by intense fruity notes. In motion, aromas gain depth, with fleshier fruits such as apricot or vine peach chiming in.Taste: Intense aromas of luscious yellow fruit - mirabelle plum, greengage, apricot and vine peach with subtle hints of wood and soft spices.Eye: Warm copper colour with glints of gold, giving it a uniquely luminous appearance.Making Martell Cognac is a complex process. Every step is key to getting the right balance of flavours.TerroirSince 1715 Martell have used eaux-de-vie made from grapes grown in Borderies, the smallest and most exclusive terroir in the region.DistillationMartell has its own unique distillation method. After heating the wine in traditional copper pots, we leave the sediment to settle, using only the clear surface liquor, which is distilled in the traditional Charente double distillation method. We are the only Cognac house to distil clear wines in this way, producing exceptionally fine eaux-de-vie.Aging Martell ages in Tronçais oak wood barrels. Tronçais means the trees have been planted closer together to slow their growth rate, giving a fine grain, which imparts soft subtle tannins with wonderfully rich aromas.BlendingBlending eaux-de-vie creates the final cognac. The knowledge and skill of Martell's Cellar Masters has been passed down to create the unique Martell style; elegant, complex and balanced.Old fine cognac
