Product Description

This leather journal is hand-tooled with the ancient Celtic Triquetra Symbol.

The triquetra is a very old symbol and dates back to around 500 BCE. Some scholars believe it to be Celtic in origin, and it's sometimes also called the Irish Trinity Knot. But the symbol is also found in Norse Viking imagery on artifacts like combs and saddles, and there's a Japanese form as well.

To early Christians, the triquetra symbolized the Trinity, the idea of three persons in one in God the father, God the son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit.

In Wiccan and Neopagan belief, the triquetra symbolizes the triple aspect goddess (maid, mother, and crone). The triquetra is also considered to represent the triplicities of mind, body, and soul, as well as the three domains of earth according to Celtic mythology - earth, sea, and sky.

The journal has a rugged cover of vintage buffalo hide and contains pages of unlined 150gsm cartridge paper.

Size: Cover 6 x 5 inches (15x12.5cm)
